THE GIVER Plot Summary The story is about a boy named Jonas. Jonas lives in a community where everything is perfect, everything is the same and no one is allowed to brake the rules imposed by the Elders. The Elders are in charge of creating all the rules and basically ruled everyone’s lives. Jonas lives with his parents and one sister.The Giver will transfer all of his memories of courage and strength. Jonas will leave at midnight, taking an extra set of clothing. He will ride his bicycle to the river and leave the extra clothing in the bushes. Then he will go to The Giver's dwelling. The next morning The Giver will request a vehicle.
Through his training Jonas and The Giver try to come up with a plan to end all of the sameness. Although if Jonas decides to go elsewhere all of the memories he has will be burdened within the community and the people will feel what he has felt.
